Confused On Plugins

Hi, Im pretty new to this. This tool looks really good, and I hoped to expand upon it by building a plugin to allow a video to be synced to the log file and played along with the time series. However, I noticed a video player plugin already in the plugins folder. Is this a feature already being worked on or even completed? its not mentioned anywhere in the features list
