Upon logging in, user name doesn't show

Describe the bug
When first logging in to the application, the user name does not show. Refreshing the application causes it to display properly.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. From a logged out session
2. Click log in in the top right corner
3. Log in
4. When redirected to the heroes dashboard, note that the user name is not shown in the rop right of the screen.
5. Refresh the window and take note of how your user name willl start to display.
