Web3 is all about community. The community is not only the driving force behind the development of a project but also the key to its long-term success.
Apart from Slack, the current state of the Filecoin community is as follows:
Telegram Community: Total members: 3,927 / Online members: 155
Discord Community: Total members: 1,444 / Online members: 164
These numbers reflect that Filecoin's community building is quite weak. As a leading project in the DePin space, the community size of Filecoin is extremely small and growing slowly, which is not in line with its status in the industry.
How to Address the Issue of Community Building and Drive Traffic to the Community?
Leverage the Tap-to-Earn Model in the TON Ecosystem to Quickly Build the Community
Telegram has 800 million users worldwide, and almost every Web3 project has a Telegram community. Attracting this traffic to the Filecoin ecosystem would serve as a huge influx gateway.
We have proposed a project on GitHub, and you can view the details through this link:

Integrate with Other Blockchains to Attract Web3 Users from Other Chains to the Filecoin Community
Filecoin has previously announced collaborations with different blockchains, but these have not been particularly effective. The core goal of these integrations should be to attract users from other chains to join the Filecoin community, encourage them to purchase FIL tokens, and complete traffic conversion.
Whenever Filecoin announces an integration with another blockchain, it’s usually just a social media announcement, with no real efforts to drive traffic or convert users. We need to organize a series of activities to improve conversion rates, such as AMAs or joint lotteries. For instance, after completing integration with Solana, Filecoin and Solana could hold a joint AMA, or host roundtable events with projects from the Solana ecosystem. This would draw Solana users to the Filecoin community, help them better understand Filecoin, and encourage them to allocate a portion of their assets to FIL. If there are legal restrictions, community members could organize activities like lotteries to help drive traffic.
Establish a Truly Enterprise-Focused DAO Community
Filecoin previously announced the creation of its own DataDAO, but it has not gained enough influence. Filecoin should collaborate with traditional Web2 institutions, such as chambers of commerce and government organizations, to establish distributed storage associations globally, thereby expanding its influence worldwide.
The DC notary system in Filecoin has laid a basic foundation, but as a leading DePin project, awareness of Filecoin among Web2 enterprises is still very limited. We have conducted related surveys in Australia, where many companies have almost no understanding of Filecoin’s distributed storage.
Therefore, by partnering with notaries and local chambers of commerce to establish DePin or distributed storage associations, and appointing influential figures to key positions, more companies can be introduced to Filecoin. This would encourage enterprises to store their data on Filecoin, enhance global recognition of Filecoin, and cultivate high-quality investors for storage providers. Many enterprises have strong financial resources, and this initiative would not only expand consensus but also strengthen the foundation for community building in Filecoin.
