• 3+ new SPs went from 0 to 1 technically through SP incubator program, including but not limited to knowledge regarding HW setups, filecoin protocol principles, tokenomics basics, IDC spec / location, Linux basics, calib net testing, Venus SP stacks and etc.
• Helped SPs to take advantage of new supranational proof to optimize their sealing pipeline, increasing both efficiency and overall throughput.
• Continuous tech support by both Venus Masters and the team through Slack with threads sometimes went over 60+ replies, demonstrating the conviction and dedication of the team.
• Reminders to community about network upgrade timelines, walk SPs through calibration net upgrade testing and shepherd them through upgrades to secure the network.
• Participation in various Web3 meetups (including Orbit China events in Jan 2024) to spread storage providing knowledge.

OpenGate has significantly enhanced the visibility of FVM, contributing to the addition of over 5000 holding addresses within the FVM ecosystem. Future initiatives aim to attract even more traffic to FVM.

Web3bridge is one of Africa's premier Blockchain Development training centres committed to training Web2 developers within and outside Africa to become blockchain developers, at little or no cost.
Over the past 6 months, they've been able to run about 2 cohorts of learning (IX & X), of which the second cohort (X) is currently in session. • Documentation and Media Production: Create comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and media content for Lotus updates and new features. Produce educational and instructional materials, including YouTube tutorials and quick-start guides.
• Project Collaboration and Cross-Team Engagement: Collaborate with various teams and projects within the ecosystem, including Boost, Spade, ConsensusLab, and others. Offer feedback, conduct user experience testing, and assist in launch strategies.

The project name: Optimistic Provide [pdf]

A description of the positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024)

Optimistic Provide is a DHT protocol optimization to speed-up PUTs into the DHT by over an order of magnitude while almost halving the networking overhead. This allows for low resource sub-second DHT PUT operations. The paper has specifically measured the DHT performance of the Filecoin network (see pages 7, 8, and 9). In December 2023, the paper was accepted at the prestigious IEEE INFOCOM conference exposing the wider academic community to the Filecoin network. The protocol improvement was already merged into the go-libp2p-kad-dht code-base which Lotus depends on.

This week marks an important milestone for the FIL-RetroPGF-1 effort. Nominations for projects closed on Mar 31, 2024. We received over 150 nominations for projects across the various categories that were eligible for FIL-RetroPGF-1 funding.

Thank you to the community for taking the time and effort to put these nominations together. The projects nominated reflect all of the incredible work and progress that the Filecoin community have made together.

As FIL-RetroPGF-1 organizers, our next step is to review the nominations and select eligible projects to apply formally to be considered for FIL-RetroPGF-1 funding. We will be using the criteria outlined in this document to determine whether a nominated project should be asked to apply. Nominated projects will be informed soon, and applications are currently slated to open on Apr 8th.

The FIL-RetroPGF organizers have spent the last week reviewing the nominations submitted in each of the eligible categories. We used the criteria outlined here to determine which projects would be invited to apply in this round. Our assessment of eligibility is based on our best interpretation of the information provided in the nomination but tended to bias towards inclusivity, deferring judgement to badgeholders as much as possible.
