Feature: adjust column width dynamically in List View similar to File Explorer

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

File Explorer is sizing each column to the longest filename in that column dynamically. However, Files is using a fixed width layout, which makes it hard or even impossible to read important filename parts when the filename is too long.

This is an explicit feature request for the List View, similar to #17168.

We're currently tracking this in the issue you linked. Please see #17168 (comment) for more details. That said, if you use the Columns Layout, the columns do adjust dynamically based on the longest file name.
