(Before you sigh at this, as at the many other times this came up, just bear with me for a minute. If not, feel free to close it as another request for a niche feature, and I'll sleep better knowing that I contributed to reducing the nicheness by another vote...)
I completely see the general difficulty in doing this properly, and the confusion that can come from a toggle setting, and the expected requests to have multiple inputs that can include newlines, or whatever. (I can even see how something that is seemingly simple, like making \n in that mode be a newline is a potential mess.)
So here's another suggestion at doing this, which should be cheap to implement and cheap on the needed changes: add one field to the settings which is a "Lines with just ___ separate inputs". This is simple enough to use that I don't think that any explanations are needed. It has the benefits of pasting a bunch of such multiple inputs in one shot. Could even be improved by making the UI ensure that such a line, if specified, is always included at the end, so when turned on it becomes easy to copy-paste some more examples even if that separator is some obscure emoji.
(Intentionally kept short without reasons and references to old issues. #1608 does a good job for that.)
