Error: cannot access data

Hi! When trying this integration and setting up the bms with the correct port and hardware it shows no entities and looking in the logs I see the following error:

Error setting up BMS sensors: cannot access local variable 'pia_data' where it is not associated with a value

Is it possible that it can't access the data from the usb port? From the hardware list, it appears as /dev/ttyUSB0 but it looks like there's no data to read.
