New site.
I met with some the web site manager at lambeth regarding getting statutory notices and planning applications on the web site. Whilst at this stage we cannot get them via an API (that I am aware of) there is a crude option of just setting up an area on the web site and posting the applications on there. As they have to create printable copy for the paper publication it should be straightforward to post them online. However, it is still a little cumbersome.
They were asking if we could take an RSS feed and display the content on a page (news story?). That may be simpler their end.
What would the options be?
I am keen on having a dedicated area just for planning applications and licensing applications, be good to have it on all Open Local sites.

I'm a bit confused. Are you talking about the HH site for this? Are they posted online on the Lambeth site? Is that what we could get an RSS feed from? Is it in place already or would they have to build it?
As yet Lambeth do not publish digitally. I was encouraging them to do so and via open local sites (hh and vac). They were thinking about reducing officer time by posting on their site and then sending the content out to open local sites via a RSS feed.

Is there any digital presence online for statutary notices and/or planning application from Lambeth where the data could be pulled from? Would they be interested in some Drupal modules dedicated to publishing that information they could use? (and would make it easier to pull from to also show on OL sites)?
we did discuss the existence or not of any API for accessing the backend database system that has the data on it. However, it is a proprietary system (I believe) so money would have to be paid to the supplier (?Capita?) in order for an API to happen. Getting a few local authorities together to share the cost would be a good step forwards but unless they all realise the longer term benefit it ain't going to happen (cue potential Pipeline project). They may be interested in a Drupal module - are you bidding to do it?
