Adding content to groups #46
Comments
I've setup http://groups-vassallandcoldharbour.pantheon.io/ to test some groups stuff. Same username/PW to access site (vac/vac). Then you can login and create Orgs, define as a group, save. Then edit and select the Panelizer layout which can be Default or Group layout. Interested in feedback. Re points above, only content that can be added to groups is:
|
do you want it tested extensively or just a quick once over? |
something quick is fine. Need to decide if to merge this into live. |
Particularly how different layouts can be defined for Organisations, depending if they want to be a group or not. Still a bit undecided if that approach in Drupal is an effective one. |
OK, give us a clue (via email) as to the login name and password..... |
OK, not sure how a user would add a group post. I can do it via the black menu at the top but not via "add" button. |
if I create a post via the black menu, group post - the selection process for the group you want it posted to is a little naff - small window for scrolling. be good if there was some way there was a menu item, on the group page, to add a post and it assumed it was for the group you were in. |
I think I have posted a group post in Myatts Field group. Not showing up as yet, may just be a cache issue. |
Have added Group post to Add menu. The group selection could be made better. Will explore. Have changed the layout of the Myatt's field org as described above. You can now see a post. Needs some theming improvements though. |
And if the idea of having to change an Organisation's layout feels too cumbersome, we should go back to having a Group type. Not sure how else it could be handled. |
@GilesGibson have you looked at the way to change a group layout? |

I am wanting to add content to a group. maybe a news item etc. The "add" tab offers:
"content page"" (not sure why?)
"event"
"news article"
"organisation"
In the news article there doesn't seem to be a way of posting a news item to a group. Within the group there doesn't seem a way to add content to that group either.
Bit stuck. Probably missing the obvious.
