Custom layout

Hi,

Is it possible to create custom layouts, like: aa | bbb | cc ? I can't figure out.. If I would need to change the code, where would be a good place to start? I Have an ultrawide monitor and it would be best if there is a main window that is centered and slightly bigger, while the auxiliary windows are on the sides. Hate having my head turned all the time :)

I know I could probably use gTile, but I really didn't like that extension. Plus I really enjoy that tabbing workflow with Forge. Also not interested in leaving gnome for i3wm or xmonad...
