Allow Using Serials Just for Warranty Tracking, Not Inventory

Feature Request

We need the option to use serial numbers for warranty tracking only, without enforcing them for inventory management in Delivery Notes. Ideally:
Serial numbers should be optional in Delivery Notes: if entered, they’re tracked; if not, the Delivery Note saves without errors.

Current Challenge

With has_serial_no enabled, ERPNext enforces serial tracking globally, even when it’s only needed for after-sales or warranty cases. Custom overrides are required to bypass this validation, which can be complex to maintain.

Proposed Solution

Add a feature to allow optional serial tracking in Delivery Notes, supporting businesses that track serials only for warranty purposes, not inventory control.
