The recommended hardware list does not recommend specific screen resolution ranges. Yet, the current client application does not behave well in low resolutions:
There is an old ticket to make the client behave well in these constrained systems: freedomofpress/securedrop-ux#110, but improving the old client is out of question. So we might as well settle on a recommendation.
Proposed actions:
- Docs: specify minimum resolution for both the new and the old client (so the client doesn't get trimmed) and maximum recommended resolutions (Qubes does not have out-of-the-box scaling)
- Set the reference resolution in OpenQA
