Hi all, the RC1 candidate upcoming SecureDrop 2.12.9 release is available for testing. The relevant details, including a test plan, can be found via #7591 .
This release disables automatic upgrades from Ubuntu Focal to Noble. If you are using SecureDrop and are still running Ubuntu Focal, you are no longer receiving important Ubuntu security updates. The recommended upgrade path for adminstrators is now to back up their instance, reinstall on Noble, and restore from the backup.
This release also updates the Tor Browser safety level guidance in the Source Interface to align with recent changes within Tor Browser.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the release, our QA process, or SecureDrop in general - however, as this is a public forum please do not share details of your SecureDrop instance's config, and do not share leaks here!.
