Installation of Intel Thunderbolt Retimer firmware 1.23.5.0 via Lenovo Vantage rendered both USB-C ports unusable for USB4/Thunderbolt peripherals.
Neither Lenovo brand nor 3rd party docks are working anymore, not even passthrough power is working.

Did you install the firmware using Lenovo Vantage or using LVFS/fwupd?

Via Lenovo Vantage. Your question showed my that I am evidently in the wrong place, though maybe there are Lenovo developers following here?
In any case I have an open ticket via Lenovo support as well.
