Notes on 07/05/2025 - 15h30 - Meeting on models in GAMA

Brainstorming on the Tutorials on the website

General : "The tutorials are good, up to date"

Louis : "Maybe we could add a tutorial on the MiniMaelia model, which is a toy model that was presented as a tutorial in a progressive way with model step 1, model step 2, etc..., almost alread fully made tutorial, course that happened in Montpellier.

Roundtable on the library models (Each person describes what he/she liked or disliked and any specific comment)

The models that have more agents (More in quantity but also more CATEGORIES of agents) are generally more interesting and there seems to be lack of them.
Ex: Prey predator, there could be more types of species, more diversity.

• In all library models, we could have a link to a page describing the model and what you can do with the model, what does it do, what you can interact with and look at, and maybe a narrative aspect.

Gaml Syntax / Data / Modelling -> Very small model for learning/examples that we could split. We have both Model/Example/Tuto.

Don't separate the tutorial models from other models, have the last one from the tutorials in the models.

We could have a sample from the documentation which is used to navigate models, the library models : improving https://gama-platform.org/wiki/NavigatingWorkspace , updating it and putting it in a place which is more accessible and more easy to access and more central.

TODO : Make a list of the best models on the plateform (most informative, etc..) and the worst models to delete to make a new organisation.

ISSUE : The main welcome.html page would be updated, more information, more links, better hud, etc...

Arborescence and more information/documentation of the arborescence itself and models.

The two button search, the view->search... and the top-right button search gaml reference have the same icon, and they are completely separated in different menus, but it could be very useful to use them together.

ISSUE : "Agents" -> "Browse Simulation" in the top meny button doesn't work.

When you run a simulation, you have only the display and if you want ANY information on the agents and their attributes and dynamics, you have to comeback to the code to understand the agents.

When you open the experiment the perspective changes and in the top menu there are the categories agents, views and experiments that appear, its hard to notice the change because its the same colors, and (ENHANCEMENT) we should REALLY NEED a button to see all agents and their attributes, or a tab, in the same place as the "Parameter" tab on the left of the simulation.

This project/proposal is not mature enough to be included as a new folder in the release and update the doc accordingly.
So it's still a WIP but it won't be finished any time soon before the release. As only 2 model where added in the Case Studies folder I moved them to the Toy Models library for now

And it the long term we should clearly explore more the concept of having a dedicated repo that can be accessed from GAMA. Actually the repo exists but is still WIP
