Unity Images availability (Enterprise and Industry)

Hi,
My question is related with the availability of Unity's enterprise / industry images. I've checked the last available image for the 2021 LTS, and the last image is 2021.3.45f1 and i need to upgrade to a version that is compliant with the android limitation of page size ( 2021.3.48f1 or higher)

Are you going to give support to that versions in a near future, or i need to upgrade to a non industry/enterprise version?

Hi @PacoBkool! Thanks for bringing this up, I think this is definitely something the GameCI community can address.

Current Situation

• The latest available GameCI image for Unity 2021 LTS is indeed 2021.3.45f1.
• Unity 2021.3.48f1 released January 22, 2025 for Enterprise/Industry customers should include the necessary 16KB page size support for Android 15+ compliance.
• We do not support Enterprise and Industry images yet

Why Enterprise and Industry Images Aren't Available

I think this is mainly because Unity exposes these versions differently. These versions should be quite similar to other Unity versions so we should be able to create docker images for them. The first step to support this is through game-ci/versioning-backend our automation pipeline.

The backend regularly scrapes Unity version information: It currently uses the unity-changeset package to detect new Unity versions, filters versions (only stable versions 2017+), stores version details in Firestore, notifies maintainers via Discord, schedules build jobs for new versions, etc.

Our versioning backend currently doesn't detect or build images for Enterprise/Industry only releases, so versions like 2021.3.48f1+ aren't being published to our Docker registry.

Adding Support for Enterprise and Industry Versions

We'd need to:

1. Update the version scraping logic in our versioning backend to detect and include Enterprise/Industry releases (this is done in game-ci/versioning-backend's src/logic/ingestUnityVersions/scrapeVersions.ts)
2. Modify the filtering criteria to include these versions in our build queue (not exactly sure how)
3. Ensure our build pipeline can handle the slightly different download URLs/processes for these versions if that's the case

Since Google Play is requiring new apps and updates targeting Android 15+ to support 16KB page sizes for performance enhancement starting November 1, 2025, this is definitely a priority.

Your Options

Short term: If you need immediate support, you could upgrade to Unity 2022, 2023 or Unity 6 (Latest versions of these should include the 16KB support and are already available in GameCI images).

Long term: We should add Enterprise/Industry version support to GameCI. Would you be interested in contributing to this effort or testing once we implement it?
