Geode: Launch Geometry Dash command doesn't load Geode

I tried launching GD through the VSCode command, it launched but Geode failed to launch
(video also shows launching through Steam for reference)

the extension will launch whatever gd is set via the cli, check it with geode profile list. is it set to steam?
