Description
Hi! I've been using Hugoplate to build my personal website and I'm really happy with it!
I integrated Google Analytics and the cookie-consent component. However, I'm not sure if just informing users that the site uses cookies is enough under GDPR. I read about it and here is what I found:
-
You must obtain explicit, informed, and unambiguous consent from users before collecting or processing any behavioral data.
This means users must actively opt-in (e.g., by clicking "Accept" on a cookie banner) before any tracking cookies or scripts are activated. -
Provide users with the ability to choose which types of cookies or data collection they consent to (e.g., "Essential Cookies," "Analytics Cookies").
-
Users should be able to reject non-essential cookies while still accessing the website.
Obviously none of this is included in the template, so just wondering what you think about it.
Thanks!
