Not sure if this fits into the theme of GibPotato, but I would love to have a Slack bot that could periodically change the channel's description and tag some people.

Motivation

We have a #feed-telemetry-experience channel where all sorts of messages are being routed (sentry, github, jira, etc.), and every week we put a person on triage responsible for ensuring these messages don't go unnoticed.

Right now, we are manually electing the person during team planning and updating the channel's description. As with anything manual, that's annoying and prone to forgetting / errors.

I'd love to have a bot that would every Monday choose from the pool of team's engineers, put their name into the channel's description and tag them in a message "@RandomSentaurName, you are on triage duty this week.".

I know there are multiple Slack channels in the company that could benefit from this. If I am not mistaken, @ghengiskhanh built something like this recently for his folks as part of the INC Bot.

@matejminar the Inc bot tool can be set up easily for other channels. If you’re interested in using that come chat. 😊

@mwarkentin we'd have to set up PD on-call, which seems to be overkill for our simple use case (and we are paying for every seat) :/
