not showing ligatures in the integrated terminal of VS Code

What works:

1. Ligature of Monaspace in the editor panels.
2. Ligature of JetBrains Mono in the terminal.

What breaks for me: Ligature of Monaspace in the terminal.

The ligature I tried is -> (arrow). I can reproduce it on macOS and Linux (Debian). I’m using Monaspace 1.200.
