Orbot remains in state “Disabled” after upgrade to iOS 18.0

Nothing visible happens when pressing the “Start” button. Orbot (version 1.7.1, build 49) worked fine before the upgrade to iOS 18.0.

Precision: If you go to Settings => General => VPN & Device Management => VPN and switch there from the currently used VPN to Orbot, clicking on “Start” in Orbot works. Previously, the step in the settings was not necessary.

Weird. I finally updated my first device to iOS 18. (I admit, I'm reluctant, since Apple proved time and again, that the .0 versions are often very buggy.)

I could not reproduce such a behaviour with said version.

Anyway, I'll issue an update soon, built in Xcode 16 with a newer Tor. Maybe that helps you!
