The script includes settings like

the IrfanView folder
number of processors (cores) of the host PC (default: 4)
assumes NEF files are located at the "current working directory" where the Python script is
outputs the PNG files into the same "working directory"

These settings can be changed by the user inside the script. Perhaps, we could use a configuration file (e.g. python setup script).
