Loading webpage takes very long time

Edit:
Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with HDMI screen
Software: FullpageOS Nightly (1.0.0)
Configuration: connected to a local network but not to the internet

Issue: After burning the image to the card and inserting it to the Raspberry, I see the background image for a very long time before it actually switches to the webpage. I have confirmed it's the background image by changing: /rootfs/opt/custompios/background.png
If I connect the local network to the internet, it seems to be considerably faster

The browser will not open until FullPageOS script detects the webpage you want is actually retrievable, otherwise you will get a "page not found", see:

You can disable it by writing disabled in the file:
/boot/firmware/check_for_httpd
