Alt-tabbing results in being stuck in-between windows unable to use mouse

I have been alt-tabbing a lot to check the wiki, and every so often, the game/mod seems to freeze as I come back to it, refuses to display GW but also refuses to give me back my mouse (which then usually shows as the game cursor and still moves but cannot interact with anything visible). It still allows alt-tabbing, and other programs respond to the keyboard, allowing me to terminate GW through the task manager.

So far, it seems to only happen when I have been playing for a long time (two hours or more, I'd say), even if Toolbox wasn't turned on until the later moments. I haven't isolated any other potential cause. I will attempt to reproduce it properly and take screenshots. Any tips on making the issue clear and figuring out the cause?

Sounds like the old classic windows fullscreen bug to me. If you aren't using Windowed Borderless of Windowed Fullscreen graphics options in GW, you should swap to one of them
