Yep I just ran into this today too. Spent hours trying to figure out what could be wrong, multiple tf versions, multiple helm provider versions, checked module versions (using submodules in my project), all to no avail 🥲

Maybe this is not a bug in the extension itself. According to the AI overlord, the issue is that the languasge server needs terraform init to be run to get some schemas it needs. But in my case, the code is for a module and so this does not work.

However, if you disable Enhanced Validationor set "terraform.validation.enableEnhancedValidation": false then the error goes away for me.
