Description
I generated SfM data using a recent Structure-from-Motion algorithm called mp-SfM, and then performed mesh generation using 2D Gaussian Splatting. While the SfM data seems to be of decent quality, the resulting mesh does not meet my expectations. The results were particularly poor in the unbounded setting.
The automatically calculated depth truncation value was 0.19. Could this low value be due to the fact that the map I’m trying to generate is quite large?
- Depth Ratio 0 / Depth Trunc 7
- Depth Ratio 1 / Depth Trunc 7
I'm not quite sure why so many artifacts are appearing in the results, and I’m also uncertain about how to achieve cleaner outputs. Would it be best to start by ensuring higher-quality data?
For now, I'm planning to run some tests with a lower depth truncation value.
