You might be interested in our KWin plugins, since that's where our minimize animation is implemented, as far as I can tell.

Thank you @omaemae. So far we are not using kwin (yet?) due to its many Kf5 dependencies, and because we didn't figure out how to theme it (without KDE Plasma).
