Implement VoiceInteractionService and RecognitionService to make a proper voice assistant?

Hey folks. I love Home Assistant, but wish the Android app would support voice like Google Assistant does. I looked into it, and it seems this requires one to implement a VoiceInteractionService, preferably in a separate process (I think?). With that, an app can be run in the background and listen for hotwords.

Apparently, implementing a VoiceInteractionService also requires an implementation of RecognitionService, which does voice recognition. There's an issue about this, considering this coupling a bug, but a response from Google says this is intentional and will not be fixed.

I just wanted to post about the stuff I found here, because I found no mention of VoiceInteractionService before and I know this issue has been tricky. Didn't make an issue because my search wasn't entirely exhaustive, and I could've missed something. I'm not great with Java, though I know the language somewhat.

It's a nice idea and thanks for sharing the services, now someone needs to look at it to see what we can do with it.
