Description
Hi,
I've been having this problem for a while (3 months at least). About time to report it.
When I am in my house, and I move to a part of the house where my WiFi is connected through a different access point, the Home Assistant app will no longer connect to my instance. The observations:
- The app will report that the instance can not be used whether connecting through the internal or the external URL (I use Nabu Casa for external access)
- When going to Firefox Mobile on my phone, I am still able to connect to my instance through the browser with both the internal and the external URLs.
- Whenever this happens, my HA reports an invalid authentication, see log excerpt below.
This has been happening for a while, I don't know exactly when it started. I use HA on a Virtualbox VM, latest version always (currently 2025.12.b2), my phone is a Fairphone 6, the companion app version is 2025.11.4 currently, Android version15. My 'regular' router is a Zyxel T-56, I have a Fritz! extender connected through ethernet that is set up as an extender, giving the same SSID and not changing the IP of the phone.
Any clues what could cause this?
