OpenWrt (luci) integration not retrieving hostnames

The problem

Entities created by the OpenWrt (luci) integration show 'Unknown' as their Hostname attribute and they are named by MAC, which makes it difficult to recognize them in a dynamic environment where manually editing known_devices.yaml for every new device in unfeasible.

It looks like some devices are getting hostnames, but most of them aren't: does anybody know what this depends on?

I've also tried setting up the OpenWrt ubus integration instead of the luci one but it gives me an error at startup. Nmap Tracker integration does the job but you have to enable every new device entity manually.
