Password reset on Mac

Hi,

I've just moved from an Intel to Apple silicon Mac mini.  I had installed Hoobs on the old machine but I can't log in to my account on the new one.  The advice I've found here doesn't work.  Any advice on how to change the password would be gratefully received!!!
