near_cursor inverts UP and DOWN keys. Is this expected?

When the pmenu is below the cursor everything works fine, down key selects options below, up key selects options above and it's all good. However enabling this option in view.entries.selection_order~ and when pmenu is above cursor things change in a good and weird way:

good: it's easier to see the options
weird: not only pmenu options inverts but also up and down keys also get inverted

Is this expected? If so any workaround to not change the up / down keys?
