Bug description

When I cat /sys/devices/virtual/powercap/intel-rapl/intel-rapl:0/energy_uj every seconds on my VPS I get the following result

We can see values that are no consistent.

To Reproduce

  • Take a vps based on xen technologies
  • cat a energy_uj file every 1s seconds

Expected behavior

Having a way to detect when the context switches and ignore the previous value.

Environment

  • Linux distribution version: Debian buster
  • Kernel version: 4.19.0-14-amd64 (might explain why as well...)
