using another senser

Hello,
Do you think it would be possible to use this sensor

instead of the default one?
In my use case, I want to measure the water uses of the laundry machine separate.

I know 450 pulses per Liter, so I have to modify the yaml a bit.

before ordering stuff I just needed to know if it is compatible,
So I will order this later today when I have the time.

I have the feeling My laundry machine consumes water while turned off,
so maybe a leaking valve or something, but before taking it apart I want to measure this.
Only pulses probably would work as well. for this specific measurement.
but I need to try this out.

I actually do hope this is it, bacause I have unexplainable water usage 25L a day.
and when turning the faucet on the laundry the unexplainable water usage decreased. but it was not fully gone.
a few liters can be explained by the boiler.
but I need to know for sure the laundry machine is the issue.
becasue if I have a leak in my floor that would be a completely different challenge.

I still owe you an update on my project,
Suddenly without any reason the unexplained water usage stopped and I had some more urgent matters.
but this morning I was able to continue

And it turns out
those rings

are not watertight, making them useless.

I was able to measure a few pulses however

So I need to find some other rings.
