  • I confirm that this is an issue rather than a question.

Bug report

OS customization screen not accessible for custom OS images in Raspberry Pi Imager (rpimg) 2.0.0.

Thus, the WiFi, timezone & ssh access section in wiki is out of date. Here's the offending text:

In case you want to use WiFi with your Raspberry Pi or update the timezone or other OS related configuration, you can use the Pi Imager OS customisation screen. At installation step 6., select "Edit Settings" and then e.g. provide the WiFi SSID, password and country. "Save" the settings and proceed with "Yes" to start the imaging process.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Installed rpi-imager-v2.0.0. Tested on macOS Tahoe 26.1.
  2. Device: Raspberry Pi 4
  3. OS: Use custom > HyperBian-bookworm-arm64-lite.img
  4. Storage: microSD

What is expected?

  1. Being shown the Customisation step. Not sure if this was a design choice with the new rpimg 2.0.0 release or if it's a bug.

What is actually happening?

  1. Customisation step is greyed out. Instead, presented with Writing.
Image

Tested on rpimg 1.9.6 with Hyperbian 2025-06-14, and it applied OS customizations properly.
