I'm pretty sure I saw this in a comment here somewhere but after spending hours scanning through all the feature requests, I only found #1637 to be somewhat related.

I agree, it would make it more aesthetically pleasing. To add to that, having only heatmap without weekday or month data would be preferable. Just a name of the habit and heatmap boxes. Another possibility is having a widget settings page where you can toggle what to display.

Yes I really like the idea of customising what's shown on the habit page. I personally really like the calendar as it is, so I wouldn't want that gone. But Best Streaks I find draws my attention too much so I'd probably drop that and Frequency if I could.

Since I opened this discussion I've wrote some really horrible python code to generate highly customizable heatmaps (kind of) based on my custom data format (literally just a txt with tab separated values lol).

Here is an example with random data:

The reason I'm writing this is just to show that if I (an amateur) can do it then surely someone with real coding experience can do it probably in a couple hours.

@ZornHadNoChoice I think that'd be interesting, feel free to implement it. I see you already have some programming experience, that should be enough to get you started. We'd probably not want something (too) customizable to start. Maybe there's some library that can make it easier to "compute" the right colors to display.

It wouldn't make sense for yes no habits, but it doesn't hurt to support them too if one's going to do it (they're just numerical habits with values 0 or 1).

As for your suggestion, sadly it would probably take me a much more time to learn how to use Github, Android development and actually implement something that won't break and would be considered acceptable code, than I already spent on the code.

I can share the code I used to generate the above images if you want. It's written in Python using Tkinter so you would have to convert it into whatever language you're using (which is probably more hassle than writing it from scratch).
