Introduce yourself and share Alpine AJAX things you're working on!

Hey! I'm Christian Taylor, I'm the creator of Alpine AJAX. I run Moonbase Labs, based out of Wichita, KS, with by friend Nic. At Moonbase we build digital products using Laravel. With nearly 15 years of web development experience, I initially leaned heavily on Laravel + Vue. However, about six years ago, the constant context switching between PHP, JavaScript, API endpoints, Vue templates, and Blade templates sent me on a quest for a simpler tech stack. This journey brought me to Alpine a library that, in my view, captures the best aspects of Vue in a more lightweight package. However, I think the one big feature missing from Alpine is a simple way to handle HTTP requests. I explored pairing Alpine with other "HTML-over-the-wire" libraries like HTMX, Turbo, and Unpoly, but ultimately, decided it was easier to wrap up the common patterns I was using in my Alpine projects into a simple zero-config plugin that eventually became Alpine AJAX.

Recently we launched a new https://takingcarababies.com where the whole cart system is powered by Alpine AJAX.

Thanks a lot for creating that library. I love the concepts and simplicity compared to other HTTP-over-the-wire solutions. Especially the fact that we should rely on the browser and the standards as much as possible, and only fill the gaps while they catch up. I am all for those improvements and hope we someday have some of them natively for free... Did not have the opportunity to create big things with Alpine AJAX, but definitely in toolkit for new projects!
