New timeline misses photos

I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report.

The bug

Since 2025-10-12, the timeline seems to miss photos.

I noticed it twice, now. Both times I took three photos, but only the first two are shown.

In the second instance, I can see the photo if I go to Library > On this device > Camera.

Reproduction steps

This is somewhat random, but it happened again just now when I took a photo to try it.

1. Use camera app to take photo
2. Open Immich app
3. Wait
4. Note image does not appear

Can you always find the image if you go into the On this device page but not sometimes from the main timeline? If it is on the library page, it means that it made it's way to the apps DB.

I have three photos now that do not show up in the main timeline, one from yesterday, two from today.

The one from yesterday is not visible under On this device, either, the two from today are there.

Oh, and I can see the photos from today in the Web UI, but still not the one from yesterday.

Does that means these are two different things happening?

Update: I killed the app, and when I restarted, the photos from today were visible, including the screenshots above that I had taken on the phone.

The photo from yesterday is still nowhere to be found.

I think this got missed during the delta local sync. Can you go into Settings -> Sync Status -> Use the Local Sync action, Wait for it to complete and check if the yesterday's asset shows up?

That did the trick, thank you!

So, not a bug? Just something that happens and that I can fix using the Local sync action? I can live with that.

It definitely is a bug. The app should always have up-to-date information of the local library and shouldn't be missing asset updates. But sometimes with the way how the delta sync works, if it misses an asset during a sync, it will never pick it up again unless it is updated again. Using the action in the settings will do a full sync, fetching everything from the library.

You can use this as a workaround for the time-being, but this would be addressed in a future release

I have the same issue, missing photos in timeline, but in my case is in both, web and mobile. I've uploaded the following assets through the web UI a couple of days ago, and I recently realized some photos are missing from the main timeline, but I can see them if I add them to an album as you can see in the following screenshots:
