Thanks @fazi-gondal! I plan to add as many features as possible. However, some of them are quite time-consuming—especially on native platforms—since many libraries can’t be used directly. We also have to be mindful of performance. I’ll see what I can do, and in the meantime, PRs are very welcome!

@imwithye I have a question that in react-native-remark/markdown/01_markdown_sample.md. file in it's plugins section you add some syntax like for underline ++, for mark ==, subscript and superscript and emoji and custom container. Can all of these are supported in it because I want to build a markdown editor in react native Expo and i want to use the library for markdown

and remark-alert and it's syntax

so you can use any one plugin for call-outs.

Thanks for sharing! I did some quick research yesterday, and LaTeX and Mermaid can be quite challenging without an embedded web view, since they rely on JavaScript (which requires the DOM) to generate the SVG. If there’s a solution that can produce SVG directly, maybe we can support it. One idea is to self-host a server and send the data to that server to render an image, but I’d suggest you implement your custom renderer instead of us doing it in the library. As for callouts, I think they’re much easier to implement, and it would be great to have them!

I’m a remark maintainer and the maintainer of rehype-mermaid and mermaid-isomorphic. I don’t use React Native, but I think it’s really cool you made this project.

I recommend against adding support for specific extensions. Instead, I recommend to add support for passing remark / rehype plugins. I even recommend to remove remark-gfm (in a semver major). Users can add the plugin themselves.

I’ll gladly accept a PR to accept React Native support in mermaid-isomorphic. I don’t know what that would look like, probably something using a native webview? This issue is probably the wrong place to discuss any details.
