Ionic Framework Version

v8.x

Current Behavior

ionic --version 7.2.0 trying to update global CLI version to latest 8.x

Expected Behavior

sudo npm install -g @ionic/cli must update the global cli version from 7 to 8 and it is not working

Steps to Reproduce

ionic --version
sudo npm uninstall -g @ionic/cli
sudo npm install -g @ionic/cli

I transferred it over to the Ionic CLI repo so it can be triaged properly. Since it's been a few months, I would recommend trying to upgrade again to determine if the problem persists. If it does, I would recommend reviewing the Troubleshooting section for Ionic CLI.
