Fade in/out when audio is muted automatically

Description
I use the "Pause on Media Player Playing" & "Pause on Maximize or Fullscreen" (last one set to "All Monitors") and I would really like for the wallpaper's music to have a subtle fade in/out whenever I switch to another workspace without a maximized window or vice versa.

I also think it would be pretty good to prevent the wallpaper from automatically pausing while in the Activities view - it currently does it depending on whether a maximized window is in the workspace. But I do not know if that's possible.
