IM Done, Lost it all again #41
-
Well it happened again, i added some new movies so i wanted to import them into posteria, i did an import against my movie library. Default every single poster again. Days worth of work gone, again. IM sorry but i am done with this app. There is a serious flaw that you cannot seem to identify and it costs user hours if not days or work being lost. It should not even be released if this is a possible outcome which has happened to me several times. And you refuse to give me back the export feature which would fix this in a matter of seconds, instead it seems i should spend a few days doing it over again just so at an unknown point it can all be wiped out again. The only solution for me is to uninstall, its sad really. |

I am sorry that you have had this issue. I can't replicate the issue. No one else has reported this issue. I have explained my reasoning for Plex being the source of truth. To be clear Posteria didn't lose your posters. Plex changed them and since Posteria considers Plex to be the source of truth the posters were updated in Posteria. I am putting this here so that others have the context. I am not refusing to give the Export feature back. I have let you know that there were issues with it that need to be addressed and it really wouldn't solve your problems. It would only be a bandaid for the issue. If a user is using the Auto Import and their posters change in Plex they change in Posteria so if they had the Export all feature they would not be able to use the Auto Import. I wished I could understand why your setup is changing posters in Plex without your intervention. Do you have any other metadata apps running? Also I use Posteria daily and haven't had this issue either. I wish you the best. |

I may have found something concrete for you. I am noticing that all the default posters that are being reapplied had a kometa overlay on them, now, i dont have kometa managing my assets and when i started using posteria i stopped using overlays from kometa, kometa is only making collections for me now. But something, and i dont know if its plex or kometa or why either one would do this but something is taking any posters that have a kometa overlay on them and making it my default poster. so even though i replace that poster using posteria, at some point something is putting the old one back. As i said i do not use kometa to manage my assets and i have deleted them all, they no longer exist in my kometa filessystem so the posters must being staying in plex somewhere and getting reapplied by plex for some reason? |

Thanks for the additional information. I would be very interested to know if the enabling of the Kometa flag in Posteria fixes this issue for you. Again this is another reason why I want to continue to treat Plex as the source of truth since I have no way to be sure why the posters change in Plex. |
