Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
As docker is now a licensed, paid-for service, some places do not allow it's use. One of the free alternatives is podman. However, simply aliasing alias docker='podman' doesn't work as the scripts use compose which requires more chicanery

Describe the solution you'd like
Support for OCI but without docker. Podman could be the reference implementation
