Hi folks,
Please use this post to help me / us developing LoRaWAN. Personally, I am looking to implement the following items with no obligation to do so in a certain time:
Given the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act mandating that devices be able to be updated, I am looking to implement FUOTA. Note that this is only meant for devices that can do delta-updates, not devices that need full binary updates such as ESP32. Especially the ESP32 is not meant for FUOTA, it can do WiFi updates for its huge binaries.
I myself have at this moment zero experience with FUOTA and delta-updates, so I am looking for help here. If anyone can help implementing TS004 or provide knowledge on how to do delta updates for an STM32 that would be great.
There is no official specification for this, but there is a proposal by Semtech on how to do this. Thanks to Mr. Gromes the Abundant I received an SX1280 that can do 2.4GHz, but I lack an appropriate gateway. If anyone has a 2.4GHz gateway and is willing to do some testing, or is in a position to help me make such a gateway, that would be great!
There is partial support for LR-FHSS in RadioLib, but for LoRaWAN completely untested as these gateways are unobtanium outside companies on the Semtech whitelist. If anyone has such a gateway and is willing to cooperate for a RadioLib test setup, I would be very happy.
Not supported by RadioLib and not on my list:
This Class is not often used and a crucial part of this specification is platform-specific, namely the scheduling and timing of the ping slots. As RadioLib is platform agnostic, there is no natural place for this to reside. Platform-specific examples could live in the RadioOrg organization, but I lack the motivation and hardware to implement this. Happy for someone to contribute though!
If there is any request or if someone is willing to contribute or cooperate on any of these points, please let me know!
If someone wants one of these features for their product and is willing to sponsor the development of it, you can look up my email address on my GitHub commits on RadioLib using a commit's patch file to reach out and we can discuss.
