Lorawan join SF12 ignored

Hi, I am using latest Radiolib and try to join TTN in EU868 using the TTN default SF12. I set ADR off and Datarate to DR0 and then call OTAA activate.
The radiolib then tries to join at datarate 9. This can be verified in the TTN desktop, Netmore Desktop and debug output on the device.
Looking at the code it looks like it sets the datarate to (max - Min) / 2.
Is this correct?

As per the LoRaWAN Reference example, this is the correct way of configuring a datarate other than the default (max + min) / 2:
