Hello everyone, I bought my modules (2 pieces) from the same seller and they work!
After a few hours of trying and searching for the right drivers, I became aware here on Github that this could be due to the different PSRAM modules. These differences in PSRAM modules can cause the modules do not work (?).
I am using a PC (Win10) and I could not connect via USB/COM. I could not successfully install the drivers for the ESP32 USB module (CH340C).
Maybe I'm too stupid for that. It didn't work for me. In the Device manager, under "Ports (COM & LTP)" the following was displayed: "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM5)". Under "Properties" the following device status was displayed: "This hardware device is not currently connected to the computer. (Code 45)". I've tried different micro USB cables.
Like I said maybe I'm doing something wrong here!? If anyone has a solution I would be very grateful. I think it could be the PSRAM modules.
I've tried different micro USB cables. The status light on the module lights up permanently "red" after connection via the USB port.
--> I was to stupid! I used a wrong USB-cabel! And thanks to "caco3"!!! The webInstaller now works fine!

@JohNan: Sorry to hear that it's not working on your side. Your error message states that PSRAM chip is not properly detected, either elctrical connection or chip is bad.

My three working boards have a different PSRAM chip: AP MEMORY 6404L-3SQR-1120B 130028G. Unfortunately, it seems you cannot derive functional boards from buying source. For some reason it's quite random if you get a working one or not...

Are you using the device with this adapter board and USB port? If I remember right, somebody stated that it's worth to try it without that board to surly exclude electrical impact.

Im using a CP2102 of this kind https://hitechchain.se/iot/cp2102-usb-uart-board-micro to power and flash the device. I flashed tasmota in hope to get some more info out of the board and using their Berry scripting command tasmota.memory() i got the following result with no mention of PSRAM at all. So I guess tasmota also didn't detect it:

The slow responding resp. disconnects most likely do have nothing to do with the module. I guess your wifi reception is too weak. The external antenna should improve this. Please also have a look on the RSSI on the overview page (bottom right corner).

Just a warning: I ordered one from the same seller, and got one with a problematic PSRAM which does not work. :-( So it seems a bit hit or miss whether you get a working one or not.

Just wanted to let you know that I was able to correctly flash (and use) an ESP32 CAM module with the label 'AP MEMORY / 6404L-350R / 1120A / 130027G' on the PSRAM module. I have bought two of those on 11.4.2023, which got delivered last week. I only tested one, but that was easy to flash and seems to work. be aware that this is one board, including wifi antena and USB. The board is a little bit longer and does not fit into some cases, you find on thingiverse.

I went with this one as it was recommended above. AIOTE loads fine on it. I still need to figure out how to get a non-linear dial gage to read correctly on my propane tank and print a mount so I haven't had much time to thoroughly test it. I think the trick was to hold down the button the entire time to get it to flash initially, if I recall.

Hi all: hope it's fine to ask question regarding hardware here.
I'm new to ESP32 and has never tried this before, I'm a developer and used to work with home automation systems.
I'd like to use AI-on-the-edge for watching my water meter (Kamstrup FlowIQ 2200). However I have a hard time to understand what hardware do I need and hope somebody can help me.
I read from several of your post that the product below works: APKLVSR ESP32 CAM (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CHYCFFWK).
As I understand the product comes with the ESP board (with flash) + Camera + the hat (ESP32-CAM-MB Adapter?). So I assume I just need to put in an SD card and it's ready for flash the AI-on-the-edge with no additional hardware?
To run the device and start to monitor my water meter, what other hardware do I need? I read somewhere I need power supply, do I need to buy something for that? I think I also need a box to put it in, any suggestion?

The main ESP32-CAM board doesnt have USB, but the ESP32-CAM-MB does. And yes you can keep the hat on to provide power via USB. Otherwise you could supply power to the PINs directly if you have another power source available.

Ok now I received the device, loaded software everything look fine so far. I'm now at the step to adjust focus, when I see it looks to me like just plastic there is no glue there, however even with pliers I can't move it. Can you share some experience how did you do it and what tool do you use?

Here a picture of one of my spares I have not adjusted yet. If you look closely there is a small spot of glue at the rim of the lense assembly (the shiny part).

I softened the glue with heat and then removed as much as I could with a pick. There will most likely be glue inside the thread, too. So slightly heating the assembly before adjusting the lens could be useful.

Thanks I checked carefully and mine doesn’t seem to have the glue. However I tried to heat it with hair dryer and use a lot of force with pliers and I can also rotate it :-) so all working now, it’s a bit challenge to set this up with Pringles but eventually I made it to work and hope it’ll last long. Is 1 minute interval too frequent?
