Heads up: 8.0-alpha10 requires Java 17: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/241546506

Tip: you can create a shadow build to track alphas: In the same or another workflow, check out the code and dynamically replace the AGP version by editing the relevant files (e.g. with sed), I also set up automatic version bumps to get a canary alert.
