Doesn't maximize terminal windows

Whenever I open a terminal, be it the default gnome-terminal or foot, it does not get maximizes. Other windows, like Firefox or Evolution get maximized and moved to their own workspace immediately.

This doesn't sound like a problem with the extension. There are various ways to make your terminal start maximized, and if you do this it is moved to an empty workspace
