About me
Atom by Atom, Kernel by Kernel

I am an aspiring computational scientist and experimental Materials Scientist completing my PhD at Northwestern University in the group of Vinayak P. Dravid. I use concepts from data science and machine learning to approach large problems in "big imaging" of materials and structures at the nanoscale. Although these structures and materials have characteristic lengths orders of magnitudes smaller than a human hair, new microscopes and cameras can generate terabytes of mixed images, spectra, volume, and 4D diffraction data after only minutes of use. My focus is on using adaptive sampling strategies to reduce the generation of redundant data on the microscope, and novel visualization and analytic approaches to maximize the interpretability of data.
