Roadmap to open search 1.0

Hi, the release page states :

The long-term plan is to make the OpenSearch version the main and only Photon version with the major 1.0 release.

Is there an estimation of the expected release date ?

No pressure of course, the service is already great. I'm taking time today to automate the update of cartes.app's photon instance, and wanted to know if I need to plan for an immediate switch to opensearch, or not.

If you set up something new, go with the OpenSearch version directly.

The current rough plan for the next year or so is:

• clean up some more of the code
• make a 0.8 release
• start making regular dumps for the OS version
• switch demo server to OS version
• drop ES version completely
• make 1.0 release

There will be no database schema changes until 0.8. So if you don't want to have your own Nominatim to export from, you should be able to use the experimental dumps with the released OS Photon version until there are regular dumps for it.
